On December 1, 2012, twenty-three amazing women came together to “find their divine” on our five enchanting acres along Dickinson Bayou where we once again convened to celebrate and share. We discovered that “one small adjustment can make our lives work” as we watched a short film clip, learned about melted crayon art, altered couture, porcelain art, tai chi, meditation and other amazing wonderments.

Our January 21 Seasons of Life Creativity Workshop included 14 women who came together to talk about new chapters and new choices for 2012. It was a great day for new friends and old acquaintances to enjoy delicious homemade scones, muffins, fruit, coffee and juice over morning chatter, and spend some down time in the airy, light-filled art studio on Dickinson Bayou. Guest speaker Rhonda Porter of A Peace within Wellness spoke to us about the benefits of aromatherapy as the room became permeated with cedar, lavender, lemon and other wonderful smells. Discussion time followed as two gypsy women read our fortunes and assured us all that George Clooney had a place in his heart for all of us. After a scrumptious lunch of sweet Italian turkey lasagna, full salad bar, vegan black bean soup with brown rice followed by homemade chocolate chip cookies and vegan baked apples with almond ice cream, everyone found their special place amongst the cottages and trees to write, draw or just simply reflect and meditate. More sharing followed with wine time at 5 p.m. in the main house where we talked about the day and celebrated our time together.

The Seasons of Life Nov. 12 creative workshop/retreat for women was all about the “power of place.” We all had a wonderful day writing, conversing and meditating about what makes a place powerful and discovering where our inspiration truly lives.
